Islamic Essentials Adult Courses: October 2023 – June 2024
We are delighted to announce and introduce our adults’ Islamic Essentials course scheduled to run from October 2023 – June 2024.
Who is the application open to?
Application is open to male and female students, 16+ | All classes will be segregated
What will be covered during the course?
During this intake we will offer our level 1 referred to as L1. Students who successfully progress beyond this level will be offered level 2 (L2) when intake for that opens in 2024.
L1:
During this level students will study 3 subjects over a period of 2 days per week. (90hrs)
Tajweed: Tajweed will be taught during one day of attending on a Tuesday for 1.5hrs. Standards taught with and expected from the students will be very high throughout and pass mark to proceed to the next level will be 95%. Rules of Tajweed will be taught using Al Rawdah’s Tajweed booklet and then students will move onto learning recitation looking in.
Any student who fails to meet the minimum score of 95% in Tajweed may proceeed to L2 for the other two subjects, but must repeat L1 of Tajweed again.
General Islamic Knowledge: This subject will cover general Islamic topics such as Faith, Tahaarah, Salaah, Sawm, Zakaat, Hajj, lessons from Hadeeth and much more …. and taught for 45mins during one day on Wednesdays. We plan to teach this mainly through pratical methods, thus equipping students to apply their knowledge and understanding in real time, books and texts will be used for referencing and learning.
Spoken Arabic: This subject will cover various scenarios which a person may encounter in real time and real life situations, such as shopping, holiday, hospital etc… and taught for 45mins during one day on Wednesdays.
This will be taught via Al Arabiyyatu Bayna Yadayk and Excel Arabic’s own publication of Conversational Arabic. Other books may be used time to time and as neccessary.
An examination will be held only for Tajweed, but not for General Islamic Knowledge and Spoken Arabic.

Each Tuesday 7.30pm – 9pm & Wednesday 7.30pm – 9pm (term time only – annual planner will be issued with holiday dates etc…)

Cost:
Course fee: £400.00 (to be paid via bacs transfer when submitting application online)
Study Books: Amount to be paid via bacs transfer when submitting application online
Course material: Some of the books and material used during Level 1 will also be used for further levels and intakes.
Tajweed: Al Rawdah’s Tajweed booklet provided for free, all students would also be required to use their own Quraan.

Refund Policy:
*All applications will only be accepted online and prior registration is required. Students cannot turn up at the venue without submitting application.
*You may cancel your application within 14 days of applying and be eligible for full refund on condition that application and payment was made no later than Tuesday 19th September 2023 23:59, a refund will not be issued otherwise.
*If you apply from Wednesday 20th September 00:00 onwards and then wish to pull out, refund will not be made.
This policy is only in place to ensure the course countinues to run once started and brings no disruption to teachers who are giving their time, and to students who are willing to attend regularly.
